Treading Water

This has been one of the busiest weeks of my life and I feel that I’m barely staying afloat with everything I need to do. With plans every night this week, it’s been madness to get everything done during the day so that I can leave on time from the office.

And after such a productive weekend, I’m feeling a bit bummed not to have accomplished much personally this week.

I haven’t progressed any further with my blog header and have fallen behind on reading for my e-class…AGAIN.

Fortunately, the weekend is almost here and there’s always hope in a few days out of the office!

  1. Hi Jennifer!! It's so nice to *meet* you. :)

Just popping in from BYW... there's lots to do isn't there. :)

I know what it's like when you're just starting out... feels like no-one's listening most of the time. I'm still very much struggling to build an audience... getting there slowly but surely.

I have nearly 50 followers now, but I actually have well over 100 (getting closer to 200 now - yay!) subscribed via Feedburner.

Maybe you could look into putting the feedburner icons on your blog too and setting up an account there for subscriptions (at some point, when you're ready). Goggle 'feedburner' or go to www.feedburner.com to find out more.

You write really, really well!! I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Hope you have a lovely weekend this weekend. Are you in Australia? It's footy grandfinal time over here... so everyone is really pumped for tomorrow! My team got put out last week (bummer, we haven't won a premiership for 56 years), but I'll still be watching it tomorrow.

  3. Hi Linda! It's so great to *meet* you too :)

Thank you so much for your comments and suggestions...I plan to get on Feedburner as soon as I take some time to spruce up the design of my blog! There are so many great ideas from BYW that I kind of want to try them all :)

I'm currently located right outside of Washington, DC...though Australia sounds like a lovely idea right now :)

  4. Just catching up with my BYW homework and have a few minutes to check out everyone else's. There is so much to do, and I almost feel like I should start over from the beginning, as I think all of the lessons are starting to gel and are changing my perspective on what my blog needs to be, I even got bold enough to ask Holly to give me a critique today. I'm a little nervous. I haven't done my header yet, and I have a feeling that's the first thing she is going to say. I like your header. Did you do it yourself?

  5. Hi Ann!

I actually can't take credit for my header. My boyfriend designed it a few months ago when I finally decided to get rid of the bland, generic one that I just typed in when I created my blog.

But like you, the BYW classes are making me realize how much work I need to put into the blog - there is so much missing!!

So the first thing I decided to tackle is my header. Using Leslie's photo posts as inspiration, I took to the streets the other weekend with my camera and am getting close to finalizing a new banner.

I hope you'll come back and check it out when it's up. I'd love some feedback...though I'm not sure I'm brave enough like you to ask Holly for a critique :)
