Home Alone and Inspired!

It’s Friday, I have the whole weekend ahead of me…and I feel a To Do list coming on!

My boyfriend is out of town for a week shooting footage for his documentary and the thought of him working and pursuing his dreams has inspired me to get seriously productive.

I have felt a bit unmotivated the past few weeks and have avoided posting any To Do lists for that very reason. But tonight I am feeling energized and motivated and therefore have decided to post my goals for this weekend…to ensure that I take action!
  1. Try out idea for upcycling vintage bottles
  2. Go to Ikea in search of new frames to spice up old artwork
  3. Start redecorating apartment (specifically bedroom and living room)
  4. Begin writing entry on the Happiness Project (most amazing book ever!)
  5. Design and post Blog Love section
Wow, those are five meaty tasks to undertake but I’m excited to get going – especially the trip to Ikea (which happens to be one of my favorite stores in the world!!).

What are your goals for this weekend? And how do you keep yourself motivated and on task??

I Need A Vacation From My Vacation

The past five days in Vegas were awesome…and exhausting!

They also were productive and educational, which I think makes a pretty well rounded vacation.

My most notable accomplishments? See below:

1. I finalized and emailed my response.

2. I gave one of my products to my dad, which led to a lot of encouraging feedback and an invaluable discussion.

3. I learned how to play craps…which I subsequently became addicted to.

4. I won $142 playing slots!

5. I told my brothers about my business idea and received a lot of support and encouragement, which felt awesome!

Solitude = Productivity

In an ironic twist, I’ve always been my most productive when I’m home alone.

Maybe it’s because I’m easily distracted with people around. Or perhaps it’s because I take my free time very seriously and would prefer to spend my weekends with my boyfriend, playing with my cats or hanging out with my sister and friends.

But this weekend, a few of my (favorite) distractions were out of town. At first, I was a bit bummed that both my boyfriend and sister would be away on business trips, but then I realized that I had been presented with a golden opportunity.

So I psyched myself up throughout the week and created the mother of all To Do lists. And I kid you not; I got most of it done! While the majority of the list entailed me running errands, most of those trips were to find supplies for new projects.

And even though the weekend is almost officially over, I’m not going to waste a minute of time. Instead, I’m going to get started on one of those projects right now!

I ♥ Snow Days

For all of those off from work today because of this weekend’s snowstorm – ENJOY!

And if you can be a little productive in between naps, well that’s cool too!
