While Wylie and Sami aren’t fans of the Fourth of July because of the loud fireworks, I think they enjoy having me home for the long, holiday weekend.
And you know how much I love to have a Monday off from work, ha!
So in honor of the extra day at home, I am posting two of my most favorite pictures of the fuzzies ever…courtesy of Miguel’s master photography skills!
Following is a photo collage tribute to my time at the beach! The highlights of the trip included: • Seeing a random corn field during a stop for gas • Getting room #1111 at the hotel (my luckiest number!!!) • Buying the “Love Bug” from our friend and artist, John Hung Ha • Eating corn dogs everyday for lunch • And stopping at the Cracker Barrel for dinner on the way home!
After weeks of counting down, we are finally packing for the beach!
While I won’t be away from home the entire time, I will be enjoying 10 glorious days away from the office in order to truly unwind after months of running to and fro.
I’ve also decided to take the week off from blogging in order to spend a lot of my free time focusing on Live Love Life Now™ and getting the Etsy store closer to its grand opening!
But not to worry…in no time at all my rejuvenated self will be back to posting those adorable cat pictures and videos we’ve all come to love!
But it’s true because I have taken today and tomorrow off for a much needed stay-cation!
This morning I got a little extra sleep, finally took the photographs for my upcoming Etsy store (yay!) and enjoyed a lovely one-hour massage.
All in all, it was both relaxing and productive…which is my favorite kind of day.
I’m excited it’s going so well because it's a trial run for doing this more often in the coming months. Taking a long weekend here and there will give me the opportunity to dedicate a day or two solely to Live Love Life Now™ and pushing forward with my long To Do list.
And the best part is that I get to enjoy the company of Wylie and Sami during a workday…when they’re not napping of course!
This past weekend in New York was cold and snowy but I’d go back in a heartbeat if it meant getting to spend more time with my friends! We hadn’t all been together since high school and it meant so much to me that we were able to make this trip happen.
And to commemorate the amazing time, I thought I’d share some of my favorite photos with you!
The first vacation of the year is here and I’m so excited! Today, I will be riding the rails with my sister and boyfriend from DC to New York City to spend a long weekend with two of our best friends from high school (including one of your favorite bloggers) and their husbands.
This is the first time we’ve done a trip like this and I’m wondering why it took us so long to plan one?! Even if we spend all of our time sitting in the hotel room just hanging out, I will be happy. Locale makes no difference when you’re hanging out with fun and lovely people!
Here’s some of what I’m looking forward to this weekend:
• The train ride (seriously, is there a comfier mode of transportation?) • NY pizza • A million and one photo (and video) ops • Shopping for Kidrobots (seriously, I may have a problem) • Three days off from work! • Hanging out with my awesome and silly family and friends!!
Tonight is a little bittersweet though because tomorrow I return to work (and a “routine”) after being on vacation for two weeks.
But this holiday break has been just what I needed to wind down after a hectic year and prepare myself for all that is to come in 2011.
The one thing I will miss the most is getting to spend so much time with my little family at home…during which I forced my cats to pose for their holiday portraits:
